Automatic sorting of generated instrument data files/manual batch sorting

By using the file sorting function described in this chapter, you can

  • Automatically filter instrument data files generated by GENNECT Remote's gateway or GENNECT One's remote monitoring mode into specific folders based on sorting rules.
  • All instrument data files already in the data folder are filtered to a specific folder based on the sorting rules.

Create sorting rules

In order to automatically move the generated instrument data files to a specific folder, sorting rules must be created and enabled in advance.
Up to 30 rules can be created per measurement group.
On the Drive screen, click [data folder] - [file sorting].
Click [New].

  1. Set the rule name
  2. Set the conditions
    Set up the conditions for sorting, up to two conditions can be set per rule. The relationship between the first and second condition can be either AND or OR.
    The conditions can be selected from the following types
    • File name
    • File type
      Attribute to identify the file type in GENNECT Cloud, such as "Logger Binary Waveform" or "Power Logger Data Folder".
    • Instrument Name
    • Extension
  3. Set the destination folder
    Set the destination folder to which the instrument data files that apply to the rule will be moved.
    It is also possible to create a new destination folder.
  4. Click [Register]

Manually sort all instrument data files

Click [Execute file sorting] on the sorting rule list screen to sort all instrument data files in the top level (root).
It may take a few minutes to finish.

Changing the priority of sorting rules

The sorting rules are executed in order from the top of the rules in the list screen.
To change the order, select the rule you wish to change, [move to the top], [move up], [move down], and [move to the bottom].
