How to use alarms to avoid missing anomalies
Detect that the gateway is powered down or that the connection between the gateway and the cloud has been lost
On the alarm screen, select [Set] for [Gateway connect/disconnect notification] under [Alarm notification settings].
An alarm will be triggered if the gateway is disconnected from the cloud and not reconnected for more than 10 minutes.
Detect that the power of the instrument has been turned off, or that the connection between the instrument and the gateway has been lost.
There is no way to detect the loss of connection between an instrument and the gateway and generate an alarm for normal instruments connected via LAN cable.
The WebAPI can be used to check the connection status of the target instrument.
Please refer to "GENNECT Cloud WebAPI reference" for WebAPI specifications.
This API can be used to obtain the latest monitored values.
If the target instruments is connected, it is displayed in "measurementGroups" - "gateways" - "products" in the API response.
Detect that a wireless connected instrument has been disconnected or that signal conditions have deteriorated (GENNECT Remote only)
The LR851X Wireless Logger Series and LR853X Wireless Module Series have a channel called "RSSI" that indicates radio wave strength.
If this value is -70 or higher, the signal condition is generally good. On the other hand, if the value is -80 or lower, the signal condition is poor.
The value is -100 only once when the wireless connection between the instrument and the gateway is lost.
By setting an alarm on the RSSI channel, you can detect when the signal condition is bad or when the connection to the gateway is lost.
Detects that the instrument is in a special state
GENNECT Cloud handles measurement values that are called special values.
For example, "OVER" is displayed when a value greater than the range can be entered,
"BURN OUT" is displayed when a thermocouple or temperature/humidity sensor is disconnected from the instrument,
and "NO DATA" is displayed when a measured value cannot be obtained for some reason.
By selecting [Set] for [Special Value Channel Notification] under [Alarm Notification Settings] on the alarm screen, an alarm is triggered when these special values are observed.
Test to see if notifications are received correctly
On the alarm screen, click [Send test] under [Alarm notification recipient].
You can send a test message to the registered notification recipients. If you do not receive the test message, please check the receiving environment.
