What are channel calculations?
The channel calculation function described in this section can be used to calculate GENNECT polled data using formulas and to create calculation channels to save calculation results.
By using calculation channels, you can do things like perform calculations using a sensor’s output rate and combine multiple sets of GENNECT polled data.
Operators available for use
Table 1. Operators and functions available for use
| Calculation name | Operator, function | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Addition | + | Adds the right value to the left value. |
| Subtraction | - | Subtracts the right value from the left value. |
| Multiplication | * | Multiplies the right value by the left value. |
| Division | / | Divides the right value by the left value. |
| Square | SQ(val) | Calculates the square of val. |
| Square root | SQR(val) | Calculates the square root of val. |
Channels used in calculations
You can use up to 10 channels in a calculation formula.
You can select channels shown in the monitor, and you can also select channels from a different measurement group than the calculation channel.
However, when using a calculation channel in a formula, you cannot select calculation channels from other measurement groups. Only calculation channels with a lower ID in the same measurement group can be selected
